Spazio Rossana Orlandi
Via Matteo Bandello 16,
20123 Milano
9th - 14th April 2019
European design brand Sé returns to Milan for the ninth year to present ‘Maison IV’; a sumptuous and immersive four room showcase within the iconic Rossana Orlandi Gallery. Paying homage to the brand’s French roots, the elegant space will be split into four specially curated rooms – a salon, dining room, study and a club.
Merging texture, materiality and form, the space will house the highly anticipated sequel to Collection IV: ‘Below The Heavens’ by Ini Archibong, alongside specially selected works by producers who share Sé’s design aesthetic and production ethos such as La Manufacture Cogolin, Studio MTX and Sutherland Perennials.
Each colour, finish and partner has been carefully hand picked by Sé’s creative team led by co-founder Pavlo Schtakleff, whose role as editor ensures the brand’s aesthetic continues to push boundaries through its choice of designer, materials and collaborators.
Collection IV Part II builds on the celestial theme of Part I, with Archibong’s form language and mystical references backed by Sé’s peerless production values. These latest editions mark the completion of Swiss-based designer Ini Archibong’s 22-piece collection for Sé. Taking inspiration from monolithic shapes and stones, the new pieces are statuesque and mature, achieving a harmonious balance alongside the exuberance of Part I. They also build upon Archibong and Sé’s shared fascination for materials, seeing the introduction of new wood finishes alongside bespoke crystal colours .
New pieces to Collection IV Part II include additions to Archibong’s ‘Atlas’ furniture family, including the dramatic ‘Atlas Dining Chair’, new configurations to the distinctive ‘Moirai’ crystal lighting collection and a curved sofa upholstered in white luxurious fabric by Perennials, offering tactility, sophistication and longevity. Visitors will also discover complementary pieces from Sé friends and collaborators including the latest rug collections from prestigious French brand La Manufacture Cogolin; bespoke window coverings from architectural embroidery atelier Studio MTX – part of Chanel’s ‘Maison d’art’ - Paris-based mobile sculptor Christel Sadde’s special edition ‘Volabile’, and video artists AnotherView, who have created a 24-hour video from the historic Hotel Louisiane in Paris. There are also mirrored art pieces by Kiko Lopez and ceramics by Nicolette Johnson, Simone Bodmer Turner and Alicja Podgorska Birkner.
Says Pavlo Schtakleff, co-founder of Sé:
“We’re delighted to be back at Rossana Orlandi’s gallery. The roots of the Sé aesthetic lie in Paris and by mixing the new editions from Collection IV by Ini Archibong alongside other pieces by our hand-picked artists, designers and producers, we are excited to present Sé’s interpretation of a Parisian interior. Above all, we're pleased to invite visitors into our home: chez Maison IV."
